Clean the Sky – Geothermal Energy Grids

Must Read

[ad_1]

Google and Baseload Capital have announced a long-term agreement to bring clean geothermal energy to power Google’s operations in Taiwan. This is the first corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) for geothermal energy in the country and sets a strong example for using clean energy in the tech industry.

As data centers and artificial intelligence technologies grow, they require a steady and reliable energy supply. As such, “geothermal energy, which is clean and available 24/7, can meet this need.” Baseload Capital’s geothermal systems offer consistent power without relying on fossil fuels, making them a smart choice for powering future technologies.

The first projects under this partnership will add 10 megawatts of geothermal energy to Taiwan’s grid—doubling the country’s current geothermal energy output. These projects are expected to start in 2029 and will help run local Google data centers and offices with carbon-free power.

By using geothermal energy, Google is reducing its carbon footprint and encouraging other companies to invest in reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
