Clean the Sky – Traditional Industry Revivals

MYGroup is launching a sustainable textiles initiative in Sri Lanka, led by its ReFactory division, to create a socially and environmentally responsible supply chain for the company’s future products. This project will “span four provinces—North West, North Central, Uva, and Eastern—and aims to reintroduce cotton cultivation, support traditional artisan skills, and promote sustainable fabric production methods.” Additionally, a materials recycling hub will be established to tackle ocean plastic pollution along Sri Lanka’s coastlines.

In partnership with the Sri Lankan branch of Fibershed, MYGroup intends to “create local employment opportunities, revitalize traditional industries, and ensure long-term environmental sustainability.” Building on MYGroup’s expertise in sustainable textiles and plastics recycling, the initiative aims to establish a scalable, responsible supply chain for future product lines.
