DoorDash and Coco Robotics have announced an expansion on their partnership that will see customers able to get their order in a quick, emissions-free manner. The Coco Robotics sidewalk robot delivery service will be available to customers in Los Angeles and Chicago, and will provide them with access to nearly 600 participating retailers via the DoorDash app. The delivery service will help to further reduce a reliance on traditional vehicles and shift towards autonomous deliveries as a way to meet burgeoning demand, while also keeping costs and emissions low.
Senior Director of DoorDash Labs Harrison Shih spoke on the expanded DoorDash and Coco Robotics partnership saying, “Not every delivery needs a 2-ton car just to deliver two chicken sandwiches. We believe the future of delivery will be multi-modal, and we’re thrilled to partner with Coco to expand sidewalk robot deliveries that complement the Dasher network as we continue to enhance the DoorDash experience for customers and merchants.”
